Rumba on the Lumber is home to the biggest and best chili cook-off in North Carolina. The Festival will take place Saturday, March 3 and 4, 2023, in downtown Lumberton. LREMC is sponsoring the Kids Zone. The Lumbee River Kid Zone features free activities for children, including a train, giant slide, rock-climbing wall, spinner, and more.

Rumba on the Lumber is a food, movement, music, and arts festival attracting thousands of attendees each year. Festival-goers can enjoy live music from local and regional talent, arts and crafts, food, and more. In the 1980s, the Rumba began as a running road race. Over the years, the event became the premiere festival in the City of Lumberton, involving thousands of festival-goers for a great weekend of family fun downtown.
