Lumbee River EMC puts a lot of energy into educating the public about electricity. We regularly offer safety demonstrations to students and other groups throughout our service area to teach important safety lessons to the participants.
A small town is set up, including miniature buildings, streets, and overhead wires that, at the flip of a switch, conduct actual electricity. The presentation lasts approximately forty-five minutes but can be tailored to your needs.
Personal protective equipment a line worker uses is passed around to the participants. Their tool-laden work belts, bulky, insulated safety gloves, and sleeves are part of this hands-on demonstration.
