LREMC Partners with The Blood Connection to Host Blood Drive

Monday | April 25, 2022
All News

Lumbee River EMC will host a blood drive with The Blood Connection at the Pembroke office at 6090 NC HWY 711, on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 9 am to 2 pm.  The Blood Connection will set up a mobile unit in the front parking lot of the office building.  This event is open to the public community.

Each donor will receive 800 TBC Rewards Points (value of a $20 eGift Card)!!!  This is a great opportunity to help the Blood Connection ensure that our local hospitals and communities have the blood products that they need.   Blood levels are at a critical low at this time.  Every two seconds, someone needs blood, and approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S.  Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries.  The need for blood is constant, it sustains precious human life, but only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly.

We encourage donors to sign up for an appointment ahead of time.  If you sign up to donate, you are encouraged to complete the Medical History Questionnaire on the day of donation.  Once the questionnaire is completed, you can screenshot/email the QR code to your phone so that they can scan it when you arrive for your appointment.

Make an appointment by scanning the QR Code on the flyer or go to the signup link at https://donate.thebloodconnection.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/19…. The Medical History Questionnaire can be completed at https://www.donorhistory.com/tbc/dhq.htm.

Donors must be 16 years or older and over 110 lbs. to donate.  Before you donate blood, make sure that you drink plenty of water and eat a healthy meal.  You will be required to present a photo ID or TBC Donor ID Card before donating blood.
