Lumbee River EMC hosted an Energy Efficiency Workshop for Churches on August 12, 2023. Churches received valuable information on building improvements, lighting upgrades, HVAC systems, and other energy-saving measures to help reduce their energy consumption and save money. North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light (NCIPL) was our guest presenter.
NCIPL connects the faith voice of North Carolina around climate change, encouraging mitigation of the effects and resilient communities through its programs and engaging in the public policy process by advocacy with compassion. NCIPL programs encourage congregations, clergy, and judicatories to be aware and able to articulate the moral dimensions of climate change and environmental justice issues from a faith perspective.
"We had a great turnout and look forward to seeing the changes churches implement to bring cost savings to their congregations," said Director of Energy Services Misha Melvin.
Thank you to all churches that attended.
