Through LREMC's Christmas Care program, LREMC employees, the Board of Directors, and the Cooperative are preparing to give back to over 200 families in the community over the holiday season. Everyone could use more holiday cheer this year. The program allows employees and friends of the cooperative to provide food baskets for families and toys for the children during the holiday season.
Concern for Community is one of the Cooperative's seven core principles, and the Christmas Care Program is one of many ways LREMC demonstrates that concern. The Christmas Care program was founded in 1981 when employees committed their time and money to make a difference in members' lives.
"The employees of Lumbee River EMC always look forward to participating in this program," said Derek Owens, president of the LREMC Employee's Association. "This is a little way we can give back to our community. We appreciate the Cooperative's management team and the Board of Directors for supporting the program each year."
For consideration, members must submit applications no later than 5 PM, Thursday, November 10th, 2022. A committee will evaluate each application and review each request based on need. LREMC is looking forward to assisting families soon.
